About Karina

Karina is an enthusiastic Special Education Advocate with passion for supporting the Spanish-speaking population, partnering with the Juvenile Diversion Initiative, National Conflict Resolution Center, and the San Diego District’s Attorney's Office to help youth and young adults.

"I think every child deserves adequate support and educational services regardless of his background, language, special needs, or race. I always do my best to support struggling families trying to understand the education system and get the best services and placement for their kids."

Training in Special Education Advocacy

Workshop focusing on creating an inclusive space where everyone feels valued, respected, and understood.

This training provided key information to the leadership team on the impact of trauma and how it shapes clients’ ability to utilize the services offered by the organization successfully.

Comprehensive training on applicable laws, ethics, best practices in advocacy, strategies for working with parents and schools, and dispute resolution procedures.

This extensive series worked to understand federal guidelines under IDEA, the California Educational Code, the IEP process, and walking the child through their educational journey.
